About

GID charity foundation

Established in January 2009, GID CHARITY FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization established to respond to the crying needs of deprived children and orphans, by providing them with food, shelter, good quality education and the teachings of the word of God.

The inspiration and vision for GID CHARITY FOUNDATION came in great part by Rev. Gideon Kofi Owusu, Chair/CEO. The organization has its national office in Ghana and International office in the United States of America.

The CEO, Mr. Gideon Kofi Owusu is a deeply committed social worker and a man of God, while realizing the precarious situation of children who have been either neglected by their parents, lost them through deadly and incurable diseases such as HIV/AIDS and other related diseases leaving them orphans.

In observing the stigma surrounding these poor vulnerable children whom by no fault of been neglected by society, are left to care for themselves. He further observed that social neglects led to increase in teenage pregnancies and there is a wide need to combat such phenomenon which brings untold hardships to the girls involved.

HIV/AIDS awareness programs are a must start program for children from the base age, even for kids from six (6) years. The organization will adopt services to include peer education, training, and outreach; specialized girl child sensitization programs; health promotion and harm reduction initiatives; links to medical care and appropriate housing; childcare support; HIV treatment education; supportive counselling; and much more.

To pursue his humble contribution in addressing the problems with orphans and HIV/AIDS related diseases, the CEO of GID Charity Foundation, Rev. Gideon Kofi Owusu put together a group of concerned and dedicated citizens to form this foundation to respond to the needs of these children, care for those affected children and finding lasting solutions to these menaces.
